Things have been peaceful in Equestria ever since the Mane Six used the Elements of Harmony to restore order to the land. It seems as though life has settled, but underneath the pleasures of day-to-day life lurks a new threat. A dark evil has been waiting in the Everfree Forest since times unknown--but it's done waiting.
